During my first semester at Mesabi Range I learned the printing side of the industry, this included finishing and bindery. Machinery and equipment I have used include, a Shots simulator, Denstometer 508, Dpm 34, AbDick 9985, Acme single head stitcher, Baum Ultra fold 714 buckle head folder, and a Baum cutter 31.5. My in school technical training skills included Film , Plate burning, Calibration, Ink mixing, equipment maintanence and trouble shooting. I am very comfortable in a press room and enjoy working with others. Our presses were two color and we ran into problems such as, Static, poor suckion, too much spray powder, too little spray powder, too much water, too little water, too much ink, dents in the blanket, double images, jams, loose plates and cracked plates.
